DETROIT — A California mother arrested 32 years after authorities say she fled a Michigan prison has pleaded guilty to an escape charge.
The Wayne County prosecutor’s office says Susan LeFevre pleaded guilty today and will be sentenced Sept. 24.
The 53-year-old is back in Michigan serving at least 5 1/2 years of her remaining sentence for selling heroin.
LeFevre was arrested in April outside her San Diego home. Authorities say the mother of three had served about one year of a 10- to 20-year sentence before climbing a prison fence in 1976.
