ABERDEEN — An anonymous gift last week pushed the Grays Harbor Historical Seaport to 78-percent of it’s goal of raising $100,000 to purchase a new engine for the state’s official ship, the Lady Washington.
The campaign began in September when it was learned that the ship’s diesel engine no longer met California’s emissions standards, limiting the sailing schedule.
KXRO reports Seaport staff hope to raise the remaining funds by the end of the year and install the new engine in January.
