Lynnwood I-5 closures continue
Expect slowdowns at night on I-5 in Lynnwood through Thursday as crews paint lanes as part of a Sound Transit project.
Crews will close up to three lanes on both the southbound and northbound sides of the freeway, starting with the carpool lane at 7 p.m., the adjacent lane at 8 p.m. and three left lanes by 11:30 p.m.
One lane will remain open to traffic, and there will be no detours. All lanes will reopen by 5 a.m.
Corrections
* Since 2002, only one bird found dead in Snohomish County has tested positive for West Nile virus, according to the Snohomish Health District. Sixteen birds were tested in 2002, 207 in 2003 and 89 in 2004. A story on Page A1 Tuesday mistakenly reported that a higher number of birds had tested positive for the virus. In a timeline accompanying the story, the hometown of a woman who was suspected of having the virus was incorrect. The woman, who follow-up tests showed did not have the virus, was from Spokane.
* A car traveling at 70 mph would need 76 to 101 feet more distance to stop than a car traveling at 60 mph, depending on whether the road was dry or wet. A quote in a story on cable barriers along the I-5 median in Marysville on Page A1 July 12 did not make clear the difference in the stopping distances.
