Learn about former Mayor James Brady, who was killed by his wife in a 1912 murder-suicide. The monument for Brady is near the burial site for George Brackett, the founder of Edmonds.

Korean War vets honored in Olympia
A wreath-laying ceremony is planned for 11 a.m. Saturday at the Korean War Veterans Memorial on the East Capitol Campus in Olympia.
The ceremony, organized by the Northwest chapter of the Chosin Few, marks the 52nd anniversary of the end of the Korean War and the 12th anniversary of the dedication of the Korean War veterans memorial.
Chosin refers to a famous battle fought during the war.
Oak Harbor Lions selling fresh fruit
The Oak Harbor Lions Club is selling fresh peaches and apricots from the Wenatchee area from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily until they are sold out at 31645 Highway 20 in Oak Harbor.
Proceeds will go toward scholarships, eyeglasses, hearing aids, a summer camp for special needs children, the Special Olympics and community projects.
