Some of America’s top competitive eaters will converge in Everett on Saturday to compete in the Verizon VoiceWing Battle Buffalo Wing Eating Contest.
The contest will be at 12:30 p.m. at Sporty’s Beef &Brew, 6503 Evergreen Way.

Eaters will vie for $2,500 in cash.
Fish habitat work continues
Adopt-A-Stream Foundation is removing a culvert on Whidbey Island’s Maxwelton Creek this week that impedes salmon migration.
The pipe is one of five barriers to fish migration on the stream. Jan Holbrook, a foundation ecologist, said five miles of spawning and rearing habitat will be opened up as a result.
Volunteers from Maxwellton Salmon Adventure will plant trees and shrubs along the stream banks.
