Leadership Snohomish County is accepting applications for a leadership development program that begins in May.
Organizers say the seven-month program challenges, educates and prepares participants to become more effective leaders.
About 30 candidates are selected each year. The program begins with a two-day retreat in May, followed by seven monthly education days.

Musicians wanted for Sultan’s birthday
The Sultan Centennial Committee is looking for local musicians to perform at Sultan’s official 100th birthday June 25.
“Any and all kinds of musicians and music will be considered, from guitar players, accordions, banjos, fiddlers, roving musicians, country, bluegrass, old rock ‘n’ roll, folk and jazz, you name it,” said Gordon MacDonald, entertainment chairman.
