Rotary Clubs worldwide are celebrating the organization’s 100th anniversary this year.

Tonight, members and guests from Rotary Clubs in Everett, Everett-Port Gardner, south Everett-Mukilteo, Marysville, Marysville-Sunrise, Snohomish, Lake Stevens-Granite Falls and Monroe will mark the occasion with a centennial celebration at the Everett Events Center.

Each club has selected Centennial Citizens to be honored. They include Idamae Schack, Elizabeth Webber, Gayle and Ann Whitsell, Tim Taylor, Harv Jubie, Foy Cordner, Chase Hedin and John Hager.

Karaoke discs to cheer troops

Folks at the Karaoke Store, 6020 Evergreen Way in Everett, are collecting karaoke discs to send to troops in Iraq. They need CDGs, or compact discs with graphics, the type used in karaoke machines.

Bring discs to the store to donate, or buy one there for the drive. You can sign your name on the case or enclose a card if you like.

What to do about Mom and Dad?

A free seminar about mental changes related to aging will be offered at 6 p.m. Monday at Washington Oakes Retirement Community, 1717 Rockefeller Ave., Everett. The seminar is titled “What Are You Going To Do About Mom and Dad?”

Primal Quest race to be on TV

The Subaru Primal Quest adventure race, which passed through Darrington in September, will be broadcast at 1 p.m. Sunday on KIRO-TV, channel .

The 12-day, 400-mile race featured more than 50 coed teams of four people navigating by kayak, mountain bike, ropes and on foot over an exceptionally difficult cross-country course. One Australian competitor was killed near Illabot Peak northeast of Darrington. The race was delayed, then continued on a scaled-back course.
