The Puget Sound Clean Air Agency has invoked a burn ban for Snohomish County until further notice.
Blame the cloudless skies and chilly nights.
No burning is allowed in uncertified wood stoves or fireplaces. All outdoor burning is prohibited, even in areas where outdoor burning is not permanently banned.

Rummage sale items needed
Lowell Community Church, 5218 S. Second Ave. in Everett, is being remodeled.
The 110-year-old church needs items for a rummage sale to benefit the remodeling project. The sale will be 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the church.

Military history workshop due
To encourage active and retired military folks to tell their stories, the Whidbey Island Writers Association offers a half-day workshop March 3 in Coupeville on the basics of writing a personal history.
