Two cougar cubs that the PAWS Wildlife Center in Lynnwood took in late in August after their mother was killed near Duvall will be sent to the Memphis Zoo.

Firefighters to fill boot in Marysville
If you see firefighters Saturday at Grove Street and State Avenue in Marysville, and they are holding a boot, put some money in it if you would like to support the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Last year during the “Fill the Boot” campaign, state firefighters collected more than $400,000.
Sale to benefit seniors, disabled
A community sale including kitchen and Christmas items and clothing that benefits seniors and disabled people is planned 10 a.m.-3 p.m. today at Broadway Plaza, 3020 Broadway, No. 205E, Everett.
Silvana offers benefit bingo
The Silvana Community Association offers benefit bingo at 7 tonight at Viking Hall, 1335 Pioneer Highway, Silvana. Money raised will support hall maintenance.
Homeless women to get the works
About 250 homeless women will be transported from local shelters in limousines to a “Queen for a Day” event at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Embassy Suites in Lynnwood.
The event, coordinated by Judy Hoff of Life Changes Ministry in Everett, will include massages, pedicures and manicures, and new clothes.
The women will receive information from Janet Spangler of Image Awareness and help from a personal shopper to select new outfits. Two women have already received cosmetic dentistry.
While the women are enjoying their afternoon, their children will be entertained at The Farm in Snohomish. Their day will include gifts, clowns, lunch and dinner.
