City offers first aid and CPR classes

First aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation classes are being offered by the city of Arlington.

Pediatric and adult first aid are among the topics for a class set for 6 to 9 p.m. Monday in the community room at Arlington Boys &Girls Club, 18513 59th Ave. NE.

The CPR class is 6 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, also in the community room at the Boys &Girls Club.

Each class is $25.

Volunteers help at Days of Caring

Friends of Youth plays host to volunteers from Microsoft Corp., SnoCope Federal Credit Union and the United Way of Snohomish County from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday at various program sites, including New Ground Everett for the Snohomish County United Way Days of Caring.

Friends of Youth is a nonprofit agency serving youth and their families in King and Snohomish counties.

Garage sale to help cancer patient

Friends of Dean Anderson plan a fundraising garage sale at 8 a.m. Friday and Saturday in Darrington to help Anderson raise money for his cancer treatment. To donate items, call 360-436-0615 or go to www.fundsfortreatment.com.

Volunteers needed for bird festival

Organizers of the Edmonds Puget Sound Bird Fest seek volunteers for the September festival from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday in various locations.

Volunteers are needed to help with registration, welcome and direct visitors, monitor speaker presentations, and help with technical troubleshooting and event photography.

Expert knowledge of birds is not necessary.
