The Progressive Animal Welfare Society recently found a home for its 6,000th cat from the Seattle branch called Cat City.
The lucky Siamese, Marcus, went to live with the Karen Ganzkow family in Everett.
PAWS takes in almost 2,500 cats each year and adopts them from Cat City and its companion animal shelter in Lynnwood.

For the seventh year, Dispute Resolution Center of Snohomish and Island counties, a program of Volunteers of America, will offer holiday mediation sessions for parents who are having difficulty determining where their children will spend their school holiday vacation, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Hanukkah.
Offered at no cost, sessions help reduce the conflict, stress and anxiety during the holiday season.

Idea for New Year’s Eve
Join the Snohomish Artist Guild at its New Year’s Eve Gala, Dec. 31 at the Everett Events Center Ballroom.
Doors open at 8 p.m,. and music and dancing start at 9 p.m. Dance to the sound of Soul Flight, and get party favors and a midnight champagne toast. The Emerald Rain dancers will perform an exhibition of belly dance during the band break. There will also be drinks and gift baskets.
