Time to learn about the Constitution

Thanks to Clara Emery, 94, who lives in Everett, we are pleased to remind one and all that this is Constitution Week.

Constitution Week, brought about in large part by the work of the Daughters of the American Revolution, is designed to inform the public about the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

Emery has long been interested in history. Her grandfather served in the Civil War. In the sixth grade, bedridden with typhoid fever, she read everything in sight, including books on history and mythology.

During a United Nations tour years ago, she was asked why she was visiting.

“I’m here because I’m an American citizen,” she said. “I want to know what’s going on.”
