Once a year, Washington State University folks cross the mountains to sell jerseys and key chains.
And cheese.
The Cougar Holiday Experience returns for the fourth year 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday at Embassy Suites Hotel, 20610 44th Ave. W. in Lynnwood.
The event features a selection of Cougar merchandise distributed by Students Book Corp. and limited supplies of Cougar Gold cheese.
WSU’s mascot, Butch the Cougar, will don a Santa suit and let you take photos.
Get there early. In years past, the sale has been jammed.
Meet Silvana folks over dinner
The Silvana Community Association offers a Christmas potluck dinner at 7 p.m. Saturday at Viking Hall, 1371 Pioneer Highway in Silvana.
You do not have to be a member to attend. The association will provide turkey and ham, but bring a side dish or dessert to round out the menu. Meet neighbors and make new friends.
Also, the association would appreciate donations for the senior food bank.
Tip a firefighter and help kids
Firefighters from Fire District 8 in Lake Stevens will work as table hosts collecting donations for Christmas gifts for children 5-9:30 p.m. Saturday at Ixtapa Restaurant at Lake Stevens Market Place, 303 91st Ave. NE.
