The Orca Network will feature the latest research on killer whales and ocean habitats at its third annual Ways of Whales workshop Saturday. The daylong event begins at 9 a.m. at Coupeville Middle School Performing Arts Center, 501 S. Main St., Coupeville.

Grants available for aid programs
Nonprofit and government agencies in Snohomish County may apply for grants for programs that provide emergency food, shelter, utility and rent or mortgage assistance. Letters of intent to apply are due by noon Friday to United Way of Snohomish County. The deadline for submitting completed applications is noon Nov. 30.

Shuttle offered for concerts
Everett Transit will operate a 50-cent, round-trip shuttle between Everett Station, 3201 Smith Ave., and the Everett Events Center, 2000 Hewitt Ave., for the following events:
* “Disney on Ice, Monsters Inc.,” through Sunday.
* Green Day concert, 7 p.m. Tuesday.
The shuttle runs 90 minutes before events and for 60 minutes after events.
