Arlington students honored by ACLU
The American Civil Liberties Union of Washington’s board of directors honored Arlington students Erik Hansen, Michael Keating Jr., Luke Passalacqua and Nick Tezak with a 2004 Youth Activist Award. The awards were presented at the ACLU’s Bill of Rights Celebration Dinner on Saturday in Seattle.
The four students from Post Middle School in Arlington led the effort to respond to the burning of a cross on a black family’s lawn March 24.
With the help of others, they organized a rally that was attended by more than 500 people held three days after the cross burning.
