World-renowned photographer Art Wolfe will give a slide show and talk at 7 p.m. Thursday at the historic Everett Theatre, 2911 Colby Ave.
The Seattle photographer, who travels the globe taking pictures of the natural world, has published more than 50 books. He will show photos from some of his latest projects and talk about his work.
A bronze sculpture by Whidbey Island artist Georgia Gerber also is on display at the Arts Council of Snohomish County Gallery at 1507 Wall St., Everett. A $5 suggested donation is requested.
Camano Friends to help wildlife
Craig Tufts, chief naturalist for the National Wildlife Federation, will speak at a meeting of Friends of Camano Island Parks at 7 tonight at the Camano Multipurpose Center, 141 N. East Camano Drive on Camano Island.
Those at Tufts’ free talk will receive wildlife habitat applications to certify their back yards as suitable places for wildlife. You get a free birdhouse if your back yard is certified by the state as a wildlife sanctuary.
Flu shots cost more this year
If you plan on getting your flu shot this year from the Snohomish Health District, it will cost you a little more. The shot, which cost $15 last year, costs $18 this year.
This is the first price increase since 2001, said Dr. M. Ward Hinds, head of the Snohomish Health District.
