It’s official that the pop-punk heavyweights are coming to the Everett Events Center. The bands Green Day, New Found Glory, and Sugarcult will be playing at 7 p.m. Nov 16.
Green Day has been called the poster children of pop-core, the kings of punk-pop and the voice of a generation.
Tickets for the event are $29.50 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday. Get yours at the events center box office, online at wwww.everettevents center.com, or by calling 1-866-332-8499.
Whew! It’ll be a very close call
One of the largest asteroids ever known to pass near Earth will whiz by today.
The giant space rock – about three miles long and a half-mile wide and named 4179 Toutatis – would cause global devastation should it strike the planet. But it won’t. Instead, Toutatis will pass within a million miles of Earth – about four times the distance to the moon.
According to sky watchers at Washington State University, its passage will be visible only to the trained eye, and only from the Southern Hemisphere. Discovered in 1989, the asteroid is dumbbell-shaped and rotates wildly. Most asteroids rotate somewhat like a football thrown in a perfect spiral, but Toutatis tumbles like a flubbed pass, said Scott Hudson, a professor with the WSU School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.
Check tickets for $8.5 million
Someone has an unclaimed Lotto ticket worth $8.5 million from the Sept. 18 drawing.
Take your time, you have until March 17. The winning numbers are 5-6-8-21-43-46.
“It’s not uncommon for people to buy a ticket and forget to check it for weeks,” said Mari Jo Nagle, customer service supervisor for the state lottery. “We just can’t wait to meet them, because it’s a great experience to hand someone a big check.”
Lottery officials also are waiting for the winner of a $175,000 Mega Millions ticket from July 2.
