Children delight to see Santa
Folks living in the Gold Bar area may arrange a visit from Santa Claus on Christmas Eve. To make an appointment, call 360-793-1335.
Snohomish County Fire District No. 26 personnel will escort Santa from home to home on the HoHoRun. The sleigh will be getting a tuneup for the late-evening run, so Santa will arrive on a fire truck.
Pay attention to the folks at home
Younger adults heading home for Christmas and New Year’s are advised to pay attention to how their elderly parents are doing. According to Home Instead Senior Care, three out of four senior do not reach out for help from family members.
Seniors don’t want to be burdens to family members. Here at 10 signs a senior needs assistance or companionship:
* Stacks of bills,
* Reluctance to leave the house,
* Losing interest in preparing and eating meals,
* Declining personal hygiene,
* Decline in driving skills,
* Scorched pots and pans,
* Symptoms of depression,
* Missed doctors’ appointments and social engagements,
* Unkempt house,
* Losing track of medications.
If you notice any of those signs or are concerned about someone, call Senior Services of Snohomish County at 425-355-1112.
