Boy Scout Troop No. 35 in Mill Creek is trying to raise enough money to send about a dozen World War II veterans or widows to Washington, D.C., to visit the National World War II Monument.
A planning meeting is set for 7 p.m. Tuesday at Light of the Cross Church, 2717 180th St. SE in Bothell, to discuss “Wings of Honor.”
The scouts hope veterans will attend the meeting.

Mystery doctor remains a mystery
We asked readers Monday if they knew a doctor who practiced in the Everett area in the 1950s named “John S.” The search has to do with reuniting long-lost twins.
Apparently, the doctor practiced in the Seattle area, so the search has expanded. We’ll let you know the whole story if we track him down.
Ronald Reagan gets a stamp
President Reagan will be honored when the U.S. Postal Service issues a postage stamp with his image in 2005.
It is the tradition of the Postal Service to honor prominent Americans with a stamp no sooner than 10 years after their death. The single exception to this policy is for a U.S. president, who may be honored with a stamp on the first birthday following his death. Reagan, who served as 40th president from 1981 until 1989, was born on Feb. 6, 1911.
Correction
The deal for a new Stanwood library calls for the Ovenell family to receive about $600,000 for four acres east of 92nd Avenue NW and north of downtown Stanwood. The deal is contingent upon the library district reaching an agreement with the city to share costs so a new city hall and police station can be built on those four acres. A story on Page B1 June 10 incorrectly stated the size of the property.
