The Can-Am Zone Meet for Studebaker owners from the West Coast and Canada will be this weekend in Everett.
Organizers expect more than 100 Studebaker cars and trucks, from buggies and wagons the Studebaker brothers made in the 1800s to the final 1966 automotive models, the year the company ceased production.
The meet will be Friday afternoon until Sunday morning at the Howard Johnson Plaza Hotel, 3105 Pine St., Everett.
On Saturday, those in the judging competition will have their rides all shined up for the judges, with a banquet and awards presentation to follow.
Perseid shower will be at its peak
On Thursday before dawn, there should be a great show in the sky.
The annual Perseid meteor shower may be better than usual. Folks gazing at the night sky for even a short length of time through the end of the month are likely to spot a few streaks of meteor flashes.
At its peak early Thursday, the shower is expected to produce 50 to 100 fast, bright meteors per hour. Find a wide-open spot and see for yourself.

Qualified applicants with college degrees can earn an $8,000 bonus for enlisting in the U.S. Army. High school graduates with some college can expect a $3,000 or $6,000 bonus. Check with Army recruiting stations for more information.
