Arlington School District transportation folks are raising money to help a driver with breast cancer. She is a single parent who has run out of sick leave.

Events include:

  • "Haircuts for Cancer": Three district workers will have their heads shaved in support of the cancer victim at 5:15 p.m. Friday at Magic Shears, 306 N. Olympic Ave. in Arlington. Get a buzz cut and make a donation.

  • Garage sale: 8 a.m.-4 p.m. today, 6116 192nd St. NE, Arlington.

  • "Arlington Hunt": You’ll find a booth today in front of 306 N. Olympic Ave., as well as a bake sale and raffles.

    Utsalady Ladies Aid offers an antiques and collectibles show 10 a.m.-4 p.m. today and Sunday at 141 N. East Camano Drive.

    The ladies will serve homemade soup and pie and sell their cookbooks. Admission is $1.50.

    If you were ever curious about William Bergen Greene and his multiple-personality defense, "Dateline NBC" will air a two-hour segment on him and his Snohomish County Superior Court trial for indecent liberties and kidnapping at 7 p.m. Sunday on KING-TV.

    Greene claimed that he wasn’t responsible for his acts because an alternate personality took over. A jury in November disagreed, and Greene was sentenced to life in prison.

    "Dateline" correspondent Dennis Murphy was at the Snohomish County Courthouse this week for the final filming.

    The garage in a photo on Thursday’s Page B1 that was damaged in Tuesday’s windstorm belongs to Gloria Johnson, 218 Ave. D in Snohomish. It was not part of the historic Dubuque Home, 214 Ave. D. The tree in the photo hit Johnson’s garage and the Dubuque Home.
