The photo of the annoyed-looking cat, taken by Herald photographer Justin Best, ran April 11 on Page A1 of The Herald with a story headlined "The Truth About Cats and Dogs."
MSNBC selected it as a featured picture for its Web site, www.msnbc.msn.com/id/
3842331, which is viewed by about 25 million users each month.
Deaconess Children’s Services offers a two-mile Keep Kids Safe Block Walk beginning at 10 a.m. today at the Everett Events Center, 2000 Hewitt Ave.
The walk will be followed by an awards celebration and a performance by CBS "Star Search" winner Vicci Martinez.
Proceeds will support Deaconess child abuse prevention programs.
The Stillaguamish Senior Center plans an old-fashioned chicken dinner 1-3:30 p.m. Sunday at 18308 Smokey Point Blvd. in Arlington.
Dinner is $6 adults, $5 seniors and $3.50 for kids 11 and younger.
The city of Bothell celebrates Arbor Day 10 a.m.-noon today at Brickyard Road Park, 16800 Brickyard Road NE.
Activities include a pruning class and an opportunity to plant trees, so bring your shovel and gloves.
The Snohomish County Museum and Historical Association offers "Lost Everett" by historian Jack O’Donnell at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Everett Public Library, 2702 Hoyt Ave.
O’Donnell will show changes the city has undergone since its founding more than 100 years ago. The program is free, and refreshments will be served.
