If you’ve heard the warning "Beware the Ides of March," then it’s probably because of the work of William Shakespeare. In Shakespeare’s play "Julius Caesar," a soothsayer tells the Roman ruler, who is already on his way to the Senate and his death, "Beware the Ides of March." Ides referred to the appearance of the full moon.
Caesar was assassinated on the Ides of March — March 15, 44 B.C. Sometime prior to the fateful day, he was warned of danger on March 15, but apparently wasn’t listening.
According to the U.S. Postal Service, a large number of counterfeit stamps have surfaced over the past few months.
Counterfeits are often sold door-to-door to businesses or over the Internet to collectors. Some fakes were made to look like the 37-cent flag stamp.
Buyers who think stamps might be counterfeit should compare them with stamps they know are legitimate and call their local postal inspector.
