At the Heart Butte post office in Montana, the postmarks show a heart in red ink. The post office gets requests every February to postmark mail on time for Valentine’s Day.
If you want a special postmark from a place with a loving name, mail your valentine this week to make sure it arrives by Feb. 14.
Here are some potential destinations:
Romance, AR 72136
Juliette, GA 31046
Loveland, CO 80538
Loveville, MD 20656
Loving, NM 88256
Romeo, MI 48065
Sugar City, CO 81076
Valentine, NE 69201
Valentine, TX 79854
Valentines, VA 23887
Put the Valentine inside a stamped envelope, and that envelope inside another stamped envelope addressed to the postmaster at the preferred city. The envelope will be affixed with the romantic notation and mailed to the destination you wrote on the inside letter.
Then be sure your loved one notices the postmark.
