A reception is planned to honor Everett school Superintendent Carol Whitehead, who was named Washington state superintendent of the year, at 5 p.m. Monday at the Education Services Center, 4730 Colby St., Everett.
High school students from throughout the Pacific Northwest will participate in a weekend of forums, speakers and projects Jan. 17 and 18 at Camp Killoqua near Stanwood.
The Youth Global Awareness Conference is open to all high school students. It costs $25 or $30. For more information, call 360-652-6250.
The conference is offered by Horizon Teens in Action of Camp Fire USA Snohomish County Council.
