Snohomish County’s new 1,200-stall underground parking garage gets it’s final and largest concrete pour Monday, topping out the 6 1/2-floor facility.
It’s also the most difficult pour.
"The county campus is closed today for the holiday, and Mortenson construction will be bringing in 800 cubic yards of concrete to top-off the plaza level of the new garage," said Larry Van Horn, director of facilities management and construction project director. "We’ll be closing Rockefeller between Pacific Avenue and the garage construction fence."
The pour could take about 12 hours.
Two 18-person crews will work the top slab, which incorporates the steps for the amphitheater, planter boxes, curbs and other landscape elements.
The parking garage should open at the end of February.
