A Mountlake Terrace High School student has been selected to play with the Gibson-Baldwin Grammy Jazz Band in Hollywood the first week in February.
James Rothenberger, a senior at Mountlake Terrace’s Renaissance School, will play lead trumpet for the band.
Students from around the country auditioned for the Grammy High School Jazz Ensembles, and those selected get to attend the Grammy Awards ceremony Feb. 8 in Hollywood.
The 18-member jazz band and a seven-member jazz choir will perform at a reception following the awards, at several other venues in Hollywood and at schools in the Hollywood area.
