Orca Network’s workshop includes a talk on transient orca whales by researcher and author Robin Baird of Cascadia Research; Brad Hanson of National Marine Fisheries Service speaking about Puget Sound porpoises and the effects of Navy sonar; and discussion of southern resident orcas, including L pod "celebrities" Lolita and Luna.
Also hear the Tulalip Orca story by Tulalip Tribal language teachers and a tribute to Keiko, of "Free Willy" fame who recently died.

Everett Medic One Foundation’s "Valentine Breakfast Fund-raiser" begins at 7 a.m. Thursday at the Everett Events Center, 2000 Hewitt Ave.
Donations will benefit a Heart Saver School Program. The foundation trains students in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and the use of automatic defibrillators. Training is provided at no cost to schools.
