Henry Cogswell College in Everett offers a Prodigies for Peace Visual Arts Contest to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. for students in the 11th and 12th grades.
First prize is a $20,000 scholarship to Cogswell.
Second place is a $10,000 scholarship.
Third place is a $5,000 scholarship.

Winners will be recognized Jan. 15 at the MLK Community Event at the Everett Civic Auditorium.

Bothell Mayor Pro Tem Tim Olsen and the City Council will dedicate a new traffic signal at 1 p.m. today at 120th Avenue NE and North Creek Parkway N. in the North Creek Business Park.
Funding for the traffic light was provided by Schnitzer Northwest LLC, which built the business park.
The Northlight Artists and Lectures Series at Everett Community College offers "The Roman Roamin of Kevin Craft" at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Baker 120 Auditorium, 2000 Tower St., in north Everett.
Everett Community College English instructor and poet Kevin Craft offers a chronicle of his travels to Rome and the Mediterranean. The program is free, and refreshments will be served.
