With a little cooperation from parents, the post office will send your child a letter postmarked from the North Pole.
Parents may help children prepare their annual gift list intended for Santa. Then, with the child out of sight, write a personal response that disguises your handwriting.
Place the response in a stamped envelope addressed to the child, including a North Pole return address. Put that envelope inside a larger one and mail it to:

The U.S.Postal Service will apply a North Pole, Alaska, postmark to the letter and return it. Letters must arrive in Fairbanks by Dec. 15.
Warren Carlton, 82, of Marysville will receive World War II medals, including the Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal and American Theater Service Medal, at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall, 225 E. Third St. in Arlington.
His daughter, Mona Lee Lsaacson of Arlington, worked with Herb Singleton, the VFW quartermaster, and Larry Freidig, the VFW service officer, to obtain the medals for her father.
The public is invited to the presentation.
Washington State University alumni and fans will be watching the Holiday Bowl this season. The Cougar Holiday Experience offers official WSU apparel 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday at the Embassy Suites Hotel, 20610 44th Ave. W. in Lynnwood.
Cougar Gold Cheese and photos of the Cougar mascot Butch dressed as Santa will be available.
