The Herald’s Web site, HeraldNet.com, has been nominated for a Digital Edge award by the Newspaper Association of America for Fix Your Commute, a special news project and online simulation.
The project was started by The Herald and developed in partnership with The News Tribune of Tacoma and KIRO-7 Eyewitness News. It has produced two online simulation tools that 3,700 readers have used to voice their opinion about the region’s traffic problems and what they believe should be done to fix them.
The awards program recognizes the newspaper industry’s most innovative and outstanding online achievements. HeraldNet.com received a 2002 Digital Edge award for the Waterfront Renaissance Project.
You can read reports on the project and still use the simulation at www.heraldnet.com/fyc.
