Authors offer ‘Take Five’ plan
Olympia authors Mary Ellen Psaltis and Mo Kiefret hope to make life better in 2009.
“Right now, with so many of us reeling from the problems in the news each day, it is easy to become discouraged, to feel as though there is nothing we really can do to change anything,” Psaltis says. “But this is a perfect time for making our own lives the very best we can each day and it doesn’t have to cost a dime.”
They offer a five-minute plan that includes the following suggestions:
@1. Body FYI Bullet:When you first wake up, take five minutes to consider your upcoming day and be quietly open to new ideas.
Any time of day, regardless of the frenetic levels of activity around you, stop and take five deep breaths.
Each day write down five things that inspired gratitude for you that day.
Throughout the day, say to yourself, “I am well and whole.” Affirming your wellbeing will attract more wellbeing into your life.
Give away at least five smiles a day. They are quick and free. You might be surprised how this simple activity will affect your life.
