Red Robin hosts cancer fundraiser
Everett Red Robin is supporting the Susan G. Komen Foundation for Breast Cancer Research on Tuesday.
Ten percent of the proceeds go to the cause. Activities, from 3 to 8 p.m., will include a raffle for a $100 Red Robin gift card; haircuts by Northwest Hair Academy outside the restaurant for a $10 donation, from which the hair will be donated to Locks of Love; an “honor wall” where guests can post photographs and mementos of women who have been touched by breast cancer; and a dunk tank.

Snohomish holds citywide picnic
Snohomish hosts a Picnic in the Park for all city residents from noon to dusk Aug. 24 in Hill Park, 1600 Park Ave., Snohomish.
The free event features games, music and a pie-baking contest.
Sportsman and environmental activist Bob Heirman plans to talk about the history of Hill Park. Marilene Richardson of the Foundation for Sustainable Community plans to lead a bike tour of edible gardens in Snohomish.

Tulalips’ cultural festival is today
The Tulalip Tribes’ Living History Festival will take place today at Quil Ceda Village on the Tulalip Indian Reservation.
The event focuses on cultural traditions, including the music, dancing and food of the Tulalip Tribes and other Coast Salish cultures.
The event is intended to bring attention to Tulalip traditions and to raise money for the Hibulb Cultural Center, which is currently under construction.
The Living History Festival runs 1 to 7 p.m. in the Tulalip Amphitheatre. Admission is free.
Shelter cats need immediate homes
The Everett Animal Shelter has cats needing immediate adoption at 2732 36th St., Everett.
Adoptions hours are Monday to Friday from 11 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.
