Everett High seniors serve seniors dinner

The Everett High School Leadership class offers the annual senior citizens dinner.

The kitchen staff provides the spaghetti, and teachers and students serve the meal.

The jazz band and choir provide the entertainment. Dorian Photography takes pictures. Last year, there were 388 guests.

Dinner is planned for 5 p.m. Feb. 10 in the school cafeteria, 2416 Colby Ave., Everett.

Name NASA’s Mars rover by midnight Sunday

NASA offers a contest to name the agency’s next Mars rover. Students age 5 to 18 may enter before midnight Sunday.

Entrants should submit essays explaining why their suggested rover name is best.

Learn to keep your local waters clean

Doug Myers of Puget Sound Nearshore Partnership plans to talk about people’s effect on the water cycle at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Camano Multipurpose Center, 141 N. East Camano Drive, Camano Island. Myers will tell how to reduce stormwater runoff, minimize pollution and protect groundwater.

Refrigerated truck arrives for food bank

Volunteers of America celebrates the arrival of a new $75,000 refrigerated truck to its distribution center in Everett.

The 18-foot truck, funded by donations, is believed to be the first of its kind available in Snohomish County for food bank use.

Join the celebration from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday at the Everett Food Bank, 1230 Broadway.

Missing puzzles

The Sudoku puzzle and the answer to the New York Times crossword puzzle were inadvertently left out of the Good Life section Sunday.

Both the Sudoku puzzle and the answer to the crossword will be printed in next Sunday’s Good Life section.
