Surplus buses and vans on the block
Community Transit will auction off a number of vehicles, including 11 40-foot Rapid Transit Service buses March 22 at the James G. Murphy Inc. auction yard, 18226 68th Ave. NE, Kenmore. About 40 vans also will be for sale.
The buses have been among the most popular with commuters because of their comfortable seats. All of the vans were part of the agency’s vanpool fleet. There are eight-passenger and 15-passenger models. Most of the eight-passenger vans are 1995 to 1998 models; the 15-passengers vans all are 1999 models. Mileage on the vans varies, with the lowest being about 80,000. All vehicles are sold “as is” with no warranty.
On March 21, there will be an auction for nonprofit agencies only; four vans and one of 40-foot buses will be available.
