Students create art for transit center
Students from Edmonds-Woodway High School worked with local professional artist Gerry Newcomb on March 1 to create their own art at Community Transit’s new Mountlake Terrace transit center. The students made clay molds that Newcomb will use to create cast glass panels, which will be installed at the transit center.
The center is set to be complete in early 2009. It’s expected to include a four-story, five-level parking garage that will accommodate about 660 cars, along with surface parking for about 220 cars.

The program is designed to prepare students for careers in social, cultural and arts fields or further interdisciplinary graduate education across the arts, humanities and social and natural sciences.
Applications are now being accepted. For more information, go to www.uwb.edu/IAS/macs or call 425-352-5427.
