Everett High School has senior dinner

“Fly Me to the Moon” is this year’s theme for Everett High School’s Annual Senior Citizen Dinner, planned for 5 to 7:30 p.m. Feb. 13 at the school.

A spaghetti dinner will be served. Enjoy live music by the school jazz band.

Emergency shelter open for families

With chilly weather predicted through Tuesday, The Salvation Army and Trinity Episcopal Church will open an emergency cold weather shelter Sunday, Monday and Tuesday evenings at Trinity Episcopal Church, 2301 Hoyt Ave. in Everett. Arrive from 8 to 10 p.m. and leave at 7 a.m. Families with children are welcome.

See roller derby action tonight

Jet City Rollergirls, Snohomish County’s only all-female, flat-track roller derby league, offers its Inaugural Bout at 5 tonight at Edmonds Community College, Seaview Gym, 20000 68th Ave. W., Lynnwood.

Established in 2006, Jet City Rollergirls is owned and organized by the skaters.

Tickets available at the door at 4:30 p.m.

Everett Elks holds Hoop Shoot

Everett Elks No. 479 offers its 34th annual Elks Hoop Shoot, the national free-throw shooting contest for students ages 8 to 13. It’s planned for 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Everett High School gym, 2416 Colby Ave. in Everett.

Each contestant gets 25 shots at the hoop.

A boy and a girl in each age group will advance through four tiers of competition to qualify for the national finals in Springfield, Mass., in April.

Winners will compete against other contestants in a district event in Mount Vernon. For more information, call 425-252-4179.

Stalking awareness event planned
