Check safety seats for children
Parents can get their children’s safety seats checked free of charge at an event planned by the city of Mountlake Terrace from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Mountlake Terrace Police Department parking garage, 5906 232nd St. SW.
The city’s police and fire departments are teaming up to offer the car-seat checks, which are planned to continue during the first Wednesday of each month.
Appointments last about 30 minutes. People are asked to bring the manuals for their vehicles and safety seats.

Marysville food bank needs help
The Marysville Community Food Bank needs volunteers. They would like people to work one to two hours each week.
Some of their needs are:
@1. Body FYI Bullet:8 to 11 a.m. Thursdays and Fridays, strong backs to help unload trucks.
Drivers to pick up goods; mileage is reimbursed.
Cleaning on Wednesday afternoons.
Data entry on the computer.

Arlington discusses new businesses
The Arlington Planning Commission is scheduled to meet at 7 tonight to discuss a proposal for two new businesses at the northwest corner of ÂDivision Street and West Avenue.
Plans call for the Oosterwyk Chiropractic Clinic to occupy a new, one-story 2,516-square-foot building. A 200-square-foot espresso stand is also planned.
The commission meets in the City Council Chambers, 110 E. Third St.
