You can dispose of flood waste free
The Snohomish County Chapter of the American Red Cross, 2530 Lombard St. in Everett, has been designated as a distribution point for vouchers for free disposal of flood-damaged household items.
County residents affected by recent storm-related flooding may take items and vouchers to any Snohomish County Solid Waste facility, including sites in Arlington, Everett and Mountlake Terrace, and drop boxes in Oso, Sultan, Gold Bar, Granite Falls and Dubuque Road, south of Lake Stevens.
Residential flood victims can pick up vouchers at the Red Cross from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays through April 4. Commercial waste or waste from businesses is not included. Items that will not be accepted free at the disposal sites are noted on the vouchers.
The program is being offered by the Solid Waste Division of the Snohomish County Department of Public Works.
Vouchers also are available at all Snohomish County sheriff’s offices.
