Bad weather delays some trash pick-up
With already treacherous streets and more snow in the forecast, Rubatino Refuse Removal in Everett canceled residential garbage collection in the city for the rest of the week.
Waste Management, the county’s largest garbage hauler, has also suspended curbside residential service.
Both companies will accept twice the regular amount of garbage, recycling and yard waste at no extra cost on each customer’s next regularly scheduled collection day.
Rubatino may attempt limited commercial pick-up today, depending on road conditions, said Larry Goulet, Rubatino’s office manager.
Allied Waste, which serves Lynnwood and Edmonds, said it will serve residential routes that are safe.
The city of Marysville plans to resume garbage collection when weather permits.
The city missed residential collection last Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Monday because of the snow, city spokesman Doug Buell said. Commercial pick-ups were made on Friday, he said.
Waste Management didn’t collect recycling and yard debris those days. The company does not plan make-up collection days but does plan to pick up double loads its next time around the week of Jan. 19, Buell said.
