Food bank seeks school supplies
Through August, the Sky Valley Food Bank is collecting school supplies and backpacks for its School Days Rule Days program.
Last school year, the food bank distributed backpacks filled with school supplies to 440 children in the Monroe School District.
Food bank officials hope to hand out the backpacks before the new school year begins in September.
The only source of this much-needed program is through community donations, said food bank director Julie Morris.
New backpacks and school supplies or money to purchase these items can be donated to Sky Valley Food Bank, P.O. Box 724, Monroe, WA 98272. Checks should be designated “School Days.” You can also donate online at www. svfoodbank.org.
