Don’t take out the trash Thursday

Rubatino Refuse Removal will not collect trash on Thanksgiving.

If your regular day for pick up is Thursday, put out your trash Friday.

If your regular day is Friday, collection shifts to Saturday.

Don’t be wasteful during the holidays

Waste Management offers folks tips on producing less waste:

@1. Body FYI Bullet:Choose organic and local produce when possible. That reduces vehicle emissions and fuel used in shipping.

Buy items in bulk with less packaging. Reuse and or recycle packaging materials.

Buy and cook only what you need. A serving of turkey is 3 to 4 ounces. Don’t buy a 28-pound turkey for a family of four. Get a 10-pound bird instead.

Make holiday centerpieces and wreaths out of items you find in your back yard.

Celebrate close to home.
