Departments seek toys in Lynnwood
The Lynnwood police and fire departments join with the South Snohomish County Toy Shop to benefit local families in need for the holidays.
Drop off new, unwrapped toys at the Holiday Toy Shop bins located in the lobby at the Lynnwood Police Department, 19321 44th Ave. W., or at the fire department at 19100 44th Ave. W.
They would like to receive dolls, Tonka toys, Legos, games, books, remote-control cars, easels, art supplies, play keyboards and guitars plus gifts for teens including small electronics, skateboards, cosmetic kits, art kits and gift cards to area stores.
They would also like baby clothing and toys, gift wrap, tape, ribbon and bags.

Documents for border crossings
U.S. Customs and Border Protection reminds travelers planning trips across the border into the United States to make sure they have their proper documents handy.
U.S. and Canadian citizens are asked to present proof of citizenship and identity when entering the United States at land and sea ports of entry. This requirement can be met with a passport, NEXUS frequent crosser card, an enhanced British Columbia or Washington State driver’s license or a birth certificate with a driver’s license.
Travelers 18 and under may present just a birth certificate.
During reconstruction of the Peace Arch border crossing, people crossing may want to use the nearby and less traveled Pacific Highway, Lynden or Sumas ports of entry.
