Post offices: Closed, although express mail service continues.
Commerce: Most businesses are open, but most banks are closed.

Exercise caution on snowmobiles
Gov. Chris Gregoire has declared Monday through Jan. 20 as Washington State Snowmobile Safety Week.
Snowmobile drivers are reminded to know about the weather and trail conditions, keep safety in mind and respect the environment.
Several brochures are available with information on snowmobile laws, driving directions to parks, how to limit impacts to the environment, where snowmobiles are prohibited and avalanche safety.

Emergency team training available
The Red Cross is offering its Community Emergency Response Team training. The five-week class covers basic first aid, fire extinguisher training, search-and-rescue tactics and more.
Classes meet at 6 p.m. each Tuesday and Friday, starting Tuesday, at fire station 62, 10701 Shoultes Road.
Space is limited and registration is required.

UW-Bothell offers certification help
The University of Washington’s Bothell campus offers kindergarten-to-eighth-grade teacher certification information sessions for those interested in receiving state residency certificates with endorsements in elementary education.
An information session is planned for 6 p.m. Wednesday on the campus at 18115 Campus Way NE, Bothell.
