Dallin Frank, a 16-year-old Kamiak High School student, has scheduled a magic show at a meeting of the Mukilteo Arts Guild at 7 p.m. Thursday. The meeting will be held at the Mukilteo Library, 4675 Harbour Pointe Blvd.
Illustrator and mural artist Chris Hopkins is scheduled to open the meeting with a presentation of his work.

Friends plan candle ceremony Sunday
The Snohomish County chapter of The Compassionate Friends plans a candle-lighting ceremony at 7 p.m. Sunday at United Methodist Church, 5600 64th St. NE, Marysville. The event coincides with the National Candlelight Observance of Children’s Memorial Day.
Help sought for Christmas party
The FARM Youth Outreach plans to have a Christmas party for families in shelters from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at 11212 92nd St. SE, Snohomish.
Children from Snohomish, King and Skagit counties are expected to attend the party.
Organizers of the party are seeking volunteers and donations of Christmas presents for children. Those who want to help may send a check or toys to The FARM, 11212 92nd St. SE, Snohomish, WA 98290.

Break out gloves, do some planting
Volunteers are needed to help Snohomish County crews plant trees and shrubs along the Middle Fork Quilceda Creek in Marysville from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, rain or shine.
The project is along a 1,200-foot section of stream at 139th Place NE.
The goal is to get about 1,000 plants in the ground as part of a habitat restoration project to protect chinook, coho and chum salmon.
Volunteers will be provided with gloves, shovels, drinks and snacks.
