The Everett Coin Club has scheduled its 44th annual show from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Normanna Hall, 2725 Oakes Ave., Everett.

Admission is free. There will be more than three dozen vendor tables with coins, stamps and cards and raffles.

Party recognizes 50 years of service

The Marysville Kiwanis Club is planning a 50th anniversary celebration from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the Ken Baxter Senior Center, 514 Delta Ave. The local charitable group is scheduled to recognize 50-year member Ray Harding.

Scandinavian food demo on Thursday

The Sons of Norway demonstrate how to make popular delicacies for the holidays.

The event will include the new quick lefse made with instant potatoes; hardanger lefse, the non-potato lefse; krumkake, a cone-shaped cookie; rosettes, a delicate, deep-fried cookie; and kransekake, an 18-ring cake.

The event will start at 7 p.m. Thursday at Normanna Hall, 2725 Oakes Ave. Recipes will be available and coffee will be served. Adult admission is $5; kids are admitted free.

Fundraising for Northshore schools

Residents of the Northshore School District can expect phone calls this week as part of the Northshore Public Education Foundation’s annual Calling for Kids Phonathon fundraiser.

Money raised will help pay for science materials, nonfiction books and teacher training, among other things.

Helpers needed for bread pickup

The Maltby Food Bank needs help picking up day-old bread at 5:30 p.m. Thursdays. More than one person can help, with the helpers trading weeks. The volunteers must take all the bread for that week and can use it in whatever way they choose. The food bank is at 21104 86th Ave. SE.
