The Everett Hawks is giving the first “Reach For Your Goal “academic scholarship to Anthony Williams of Mariner High School.

The scholarship is to be presented by Everett Hawks head coach Cedric Walker at the “Christmas Winter Rhapsody” community celebration scheduled for noon to 5 p.m. today at Mariner High School, 200 120th St. SW, Everett.

Silver Lake Theatre offers performances

“Riffraff, A Christmas Musical” is being performed free at Hope Church, 11329 23rd Drive SE, Everett. The story is the retelling of the original Christmas story with a twist. The shows are scheduled for 7 p.m. today and Sunday. Recommended for ages 6 and older. The show is a production of the Silver Lake Theatre company.

Get pet pictures with Santa Claus

Pet pictures with Santa are being offered from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. today at the Everett Animal Shelter, 2732 36th St., Everett. The pictures cost $20.

Ceremony Sunday for those grieving

Bothell Funeral Home offers its annual Holiday Remembrance Service at 3 p.m. Sunday at 18224 103rd Ave. NE.

There will be music, a candle-lighting ceremony and meditation on making it through the holidays.

Sports video to air at Arlington school

The community is invited to view an Arlington High School fall sports highlight video from 6 to 7 p.m. today in the high school’s commons. Students in the school’s video productions class compiled the video.

The event is free. Popcorn will be served.

The Snohomish County chapter of The Compassionate Friends plans a candle-lighting ceremony at 7 p.m. Dec. 21 at United Methodist Church, 5600 64th St. NE, Marysville. An incorrect date for the ceremony was published in the FYI column on Page B1 on Friday.
