Snohomish County seeks advocates
The Snohomish County long-term care ombudsman is recruiting volunteers to serve as advocates for older adults.
Trained volunteer ombudsmen listen to the concerns and questions of residents living in nursing homes, assisted-living facilities or adult family homes, working to resolve their problems or answer questions.
Volunteers receive four days of free training to become state-certified ombudsmen and volunteer up to four hours a week.
The next training sessions are Sept. 12, 13, 20 and 21. More than 300 facilities in the county need volunteers. For more information, call Robin Low at 425-388-7393.
