Snohomish County taxpayers flocked to appeal their property assessments and file paperwork before Friday’s deadline.
Hundreds have inquired since Thursday, and the phones have been ringing off the hook, said Marsha Carlsen, clerk of the Board of Equalization.
Property assessments climbed an average 21 percent across the county, a record high $15 billion increase. Carlsen expects the number of appeals will break the record of 1,200 appeals in 2004.
