A musical benefit is planned for 5 p.m. Saturday at Lakewood High School, 17110 16th Drive NE in Marysville, to benefit the Karlie Kaska Volleyball Scholarship Fund and Meggi Ward’s medical and college fund.

Musicians include Patient Patient, Euphoric, Allison Preisinger, Sean McGrath and Miles McGillivray.

A May car accident in the Arlington area involved three girls from Lakewood High School. Karlie Kaska did not survive the crash, Meggi Ward is still in the hospital and Brooke Loisel is recovering from the accident.

Donations will be accepted at the door.

No more donations, organizers plead

Organizers of a benefit rummage sale for former Monroe High School principal Lou Imbesi say the community has been generous with its donations – so generous they don’t have room for any more.

“We’re stuffed to the rafters,” said Rosemary O’Neil, a spokeswoman for the Monroe School District.

No more donations will be accepted for the sale.

The rummage sale will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at Park Place Middle School, 1408 W. Main St.

Imbesi, 34, was playing soccer with friends when he collapsed on the field June 20. Proceeds from the sale will help the family with the medical bills.
